Here are some of your favorite memories of fair:

I don't even know where to begin! Fair was my favorite week of the year...better
than Christmas! Everything I did for the other 51 weeks of the year was in
preparation for that one week. I would have to say winning Grand Champion Horse
Showmanship in my final year would have to be at the top of the list. So many
other great memories as well! - Kate W., 1999

I have many great memories of fair, but the best ones would have to be
winning the Senior Sweepstakes competition August 2008, camping/hanging out with
friends and meeting my fiance through the fair back in August 2005. I just
really appreciate the 4-H program and how much it has taught me over the years
and how much of a positive impact it has on youth of all ages for the past,
present and future! - Nicole P., 2008

Getting up to be in the dairy barn at 6 am to feed my cattle. - Jordan K, 2005

My favorite memory of the fair was hanging out with my friends in the
campground area! - Molly C., 2000

Being crowned Queen in 1999 - Casey G., 1999

I showed horses and was most proud to be the first winner of the Bob Wittenbach
Memorial Trophy for the most points in 1968, the year that Bob died in a tragic
traffic accident. Several of us who were friends of Bob's had a bittersweet year
at the fair that year, remembering all that Bob accomplished and what he meant
to the horse community. I made lots of friends during those 4-H years and still
keep in touch with some of them today. - Carol T., 1990

Getting up early every morning bathing my horse. The crisp air, laughter
and giggles. - Terri B., 1980

Hanging out with friends in the horse barn.- Ester G., 1978

There are so many it is really hard to pick just one. I was you typical backyard
4-H kid who had to work to get what I wanted and learned many lessons along the
way. For me I worked so hard but results in the show ring never really seemed to
show it. My brother had won trophies but I had not. When I was crowned the 1991
Fair Queen I had finally won something that I worked very hard for. All my hard
work had finally paid off. The pride I had in representing the fair was
something I find difficult to put into words. That is a time I cherish to this
day and that was my ''trophy''. - Nicki P., 1991

Gathering with ''fair friends'' that I saw only once a year but it was like we
were never apart, camping, the nostalgic smell of the barns, the dirt.....and
the exhaustion! It was all great and worth every minute of effort in year-long
preparation.
Now as a parent and leader, the tradition continues and I love to see the
character and work ethics that builds in our kids from their same experience and
effort. - Kristi C., 1990

Bareback horse races down by the river! Dunking people in the HUGE cattle
trough!! The Potluck in the campgrounds with the whole club. The tornado that
ripped throught the area and my horse was in the TENT! The sherrif bringing my
horse back 8 times in 7 nights. He would break out and head for the concession
stand that fed him Orange pop and carmel corn until the sherrif came to put him
back in his stall! They said he couldn't come back without a box stall!!!
Obviously way before the beautiful stalls they have now! Jodi B. - 1977
