Reading For Rides
Tuesday August 6th Noon to 4 PM
many other locations
The Kent County Youth Fair and Elliot's Amusements, are proud to announce that the Reading for Rides program will be back again this year with TWO BIG CHANGES! We listened to your comments and extended the hours of the free ride from 2 hours to 4! Tuesday August 6 from Noon to 4 PM will be the Reading for Rides free ride. From noon to 2 it will be a private ride just for RFR kids, then from 2 PM to 4 PM the rides will be open to the public, but the RFR kids still ride for free! The free ride is open to kids 12 and under. All you have to do is print the form and have your parents fill it out with the books you have read, then bring the form with you to the free ride on Tuesday! The form has spaces for information on 5 books that your child has read. Please fill out a separate form for each child. Note that forms will not be available at the fair.
New this year is the children's book K.C. Lost Her Bell, kids follow K.C. The Cow as she searches the fair grounds looking for her bell. She finds out some great information along the way. The book is written and illustrated by our own Denise Stain. You can get a copy of the book at Ken District Libraries and many other locations throughout Kent County.
Also new this year at 4:15 PM is a performance by Kevin Kammeraad - kids of all ages will love his show featuring Poetry, Puppetry, Music and more!
Head on over to the Meijer free entertainment tent after the free ride and check out the show!
We have included a few simple questions on the form about our great fair. We would appreciate it if you could answer those questions for us so we can make the fair even better next year. So kids, get reading and riding!
Have kids older than 12?
